We will always do our best to ensure we are as accessible as possible. If you have an urgent dental problem, we will do all we can to ensure you are seen as soon as possible.
If you are not registered with a dentist we can usually see you on the same day on an independent basis to get you out of pain. If you are an independent referred patient, we can usually arrange an appointment within a week for urgent treatment.
At St Faith we pride ourselves in providing the best standard of care, and as part of a sedation clinic know more than most just how anxious one can be about dentistry.
We have the support of a full range of specialists at the practice to ensure even the most complex of situations can be managed efficiently and effectively.
In the event of a dental emergency please call the practice on 01342 410160. If this is within our opening times then we will endeavour to see you on the same-day if at all possible.
Outside of our opening times, please call NHS 111 for assistance.
Monday to Friday: 8:30 – 17:00
Saturdays and late/out of hours appointments by arrangement
Although life is unpredictable, and a dental emergency could occur at any time, you can have peace of mind knowing that we are here to assist you whenever necessary.
We will do all we can to see you quickly, relieve your pain, and get you on the road to full recovery.
If further treatment is required, we will advise you of your options and the costs involved.
Common examples of issues that might need an emergency dental appointment include:
“I took my partner to have some extractions and she was very nervous about the whole process, the staff were polite thoughtful and very respectful of her , she is in a wheelchair and my only quibble is the front door is somewhat of a fight to get through but otherwise very happy and pleased with the work done.”
We are now obliged to carry out all NHS treatment on under 12’s using inhalation sedation only.
This limits the types of treatment that we may be able to carry out on NHS contract, and regrettably we cannot guarantee that we will be able to complete all of the treatment you have been referred for.
We remain compliant with National ‘IACSD’ sedation guidelines which allow us the clinical freedom to use -where necessary -alternative ‘advanced’ sedation techniques on a non- NHS (private) basis.
If it looks like treatment will not be successful under ‘basic’ sedation, the options will be to refer you onward to Community Dental Service or Hospital (where facilities allow) or back to your own dentist for the treatment to be attempted under local anasethetic, or to discuss re-referral on a private basis.
We wish to make clear that this situation is purely as a result of NHS commissioning and completely beyond our control, but assure you of our best efforts in continuing to provide high standards in NHS treatment where possible.
