Susanne qualified at the University of Lund in Sweden in 1999 with a Diploma in Dental Surgery. She came over to the UK sixteen years ago to further her career. She has a particular interest and empathy with anxious patients, having worked part time in sedation clinics for many years.
She lives locally and is married with two young children. She enjoys travelling, reading, gardening, and can often be found out and about in the local area with her dogs.
Martin qualified as a dentist in 1999 receiving the top grade in his thesis. His special interest is achieving maximum facial and dental aesthetics and make the treatment as comfortable as possible for the patients. In his spare time, he loves to travel the world and get to know different cultures.
Alex was a General Nurse working in Maxillofacial Surgery and Accident and Emergency before re-training as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist. She has great empathy with nervous patients and, very unusually, she is able to provide scaling and other hygiene work under inhalational sedaton.
We are now obliged to carry out all NHS treatment on under 12’s using inhalation sedation only.
We are now obliged to carry out all NHS treatment on over 12’s and adults under inhalation sedation or ‘basic’ intravenous sedation using a single drug.
This limits the types of treatment that we may be able to carry out on NHS contract, and regrettably we cannot guarantee that we will be able to complete all of the treatment you have been referred for.
We remain compliant with National ‘IACSD’ sedation guidelines which allow us the clinical freedom to use -where necessary -alternative 'advanced' sedation techniques on a non- NHS (private) basis.
If it looks like treatment will not be successful under ‘basic’ sedation, the options will be to refer you onward to Community Dental Service or Hospital (where facilities allow) or back to your own dentist for the treatment to be attempted under local anasethetic, or to discuss re-referral on a private basis.
We wish to make clear that this situation is purely as a result of NHS commissioning and completely beyond our control, but assure you of our best efforts in continuing to provide high standards in NHS treatment where possible.
